The discovery of a suspicious package in a vehicle forced the closure of the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor, Ont., late Sunday evening.
Windsor Police are investigating a package that was discovered in a vehicle on the bridge, which remained closed for much of the night.
“We are currently investigating a suspicious package found in a vehicle on the Ambassador Bridge,” Windsor Police said on Twitter.
Police have urged road users to avoid the bridge and instead use the Detroit-Windsor tunnel while the police investigation continues.
In another tweet posted around 11 p.m., local police said the bridge connecting Ontario to Detroit in the United States would soon be reopened to traffic.
