An investigation was opened and entrusted to the judicial police after the discovery, Wednesday, March 9, of a suspicious package in front of the Russian consulate general in Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin), reports France Bleu Alsace. The suspicious package was dropped off in front of the consulate around 9 a.m. The rescue teams, made up of specialized firefighters, quickly intervened.

The suspicious package contained a black powder that is neither toxic nor explosive. Rescuers finally left the scene around 10:30 a.m. The investigation will have to determine if the deposit of the suspicious package has a link with the Russian invasion of Ukraine and if it is a malicious act, fifteen days after the start of the conflict.
