Questions remain after the death of Jeremie Cohen, fatally hit by a tram in Bobigny on February 16. The investigation was initially dismissed as a simple traffic accident. But the family appealed for witnesses, and a few days later a video revealed that the young man had been assaulted moments before his death. The father of the victim judges “inadmissible” that more in-depth investigative work has not been carried out upstream. The perpetrators of the attack are now actively sought by the judicial police of Seine-Saint-Denis.

There is also doubt about the reasons for this violence. A kippah was indeed found at the scene. The theory of an anti-Semitic attack was therefore raised. But for the time being, the prosecution remains cautious because “no element to date allows us to affirm that the victim was wearing a yarmulke or not at the time of the scene of violence”said the public prosecutor of Bobigny.
