A stunning finale for “Chaos”

The viewers who devoured the series “Chaos” will finally know during the grand finale on Tuesday, at TVA, who is the accomplice of the one who perpetrated the attack at the INVO concert (Simon Morin) at Santorini.

“People will fall to the ground,” said spontaneously Josélito Michaud, creator of this psychological suspense which was filmed this year, from the end of April to the end of July, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He showed the final episode to friends to see their reaction when they discovered the identity of the accomplice of Charles (Henri Picard), INVO’s brother. All were stunned.

Josélito Michaud is delighted to have had his fill of followers with “Chaos”, the series having a confirmed average of 935,000 addicts and market share of nearly 35% among 18-34 year olds, an audience that is more difficult to reach , especially in the context of the proliferation of platforms.

“This a collective and addictive work, and it was a demanding experience,” summed up the man who has donned several hats over the years, from manager to host, including producer and author.

“It was complicated to write and shoot,” he continued in an interview with theQMI Agency, Monday. No detail should be forgotten, because we were shooting out of order and there was a lot of backtracking. We started by filming the concert and the explosions, because we said to ourselves that if the actors would see the explosion, every time we mentioned it and that it would be easier for them. “

Directed by Stéphan Beaudoin, the series, which will not have a sequel, was written by Sylvie Bouchard, Josélito Michaud, Pascale Renaud-Hébert, Anima Rowan, Gabriel Sabourin and Geneviève Simard.

Josélito Michaud, who is already working on three other projects – without having given up on animation (he did not want to say if he was going to take the train again …) -, speaks of “Chaos” as a production that rolled at full speed.

“We had to deliver the first two episodes at the end of August. There are still special effects, it was complex. […] We delivered the last show on Friday night, ”he revealed, just four days before it was broadcast.

“There is a damn big weight that has left my shoulders,” he added, laughing, recalling also that he had to have his head shaved after losing a lot of hair at once, without doubt because of the great stress experienced on the “Chaos” plateau in mid-May.

“All the producers will say it, it’s hard to produce, it’s demanding for everyone. We have to get into the budget, put more money on the table because it will be lacking, do our scenes and our days, pay attention to the world. ”

Not now

He confirms that there is “no possibility of making a sequel to” Chaos “”, a series co-produced by his box Keep it Simple and that of André Dupuy (Amalga), in collaboration with Quebecor Content.

“It was wanted on our part, the authors, and we will not be tempted. Everyone has made assumptions, and everyone will be surprised by the final, because we will understand what happened exactly that night ”, summarized Josélito Michaud, to whom we did not talk as much about ‘a project since “We always take a train”.

Among his next projects, there is in particular the adaptation of his book “Three months at the most”, released a year ago. It is in a way the continuation of his series “Olivier” and we will find the protagonist at the age of 50 years.

The last episode of “Chaos” airs this Tuesday from 9 p.m. on TVA.
