A student at a school in northeast Montreal was injured on Tuesday morning when he was the victim of an armed attack by another student during an argument.
The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) reported that the injured 18-year-old was transported to the hospital, suffering from serious injuries to the upper body caused by the use of a knife, but which do not endanger his life. As for the other student involved in the altercation, he left the building and fled.
The dispute allegedly broke out around 8:30 a.m. inside the Amos school located on Saint-Vital Boulevard, in the Montreal-North borough. She was reported to the authorities by a telephone call made to the 911 telephone exchange.
The vocation of the Amos school is to welcome pupils aged 16 to 20 who have experienced difficulties in their school career.
The SPVM sent investigators, forensic identification technicians and members of the canine squad to gather information to clarify the circumstances of the event and find the suspect.
The police hope that surveillance cameras were able to capture images that will help their investigation. A search for witnesses was also initiated during the morning.
