a story that has lasted for centuries

During the first lockdown, we applauded caregivers at our windows to salute their dedication to our hospitals. Today, while the health crisis continues, they are still present and have never stopped being. A place of innovation and progress, the hospital has existed for centuries.

It all started in the Middle Ages with the creation of the first hospices, and it has continued over the ages thanks to great men such as Louis XIV, Napoleon and Charles de Gaulle, who have contributed to the building.

In Wait a minute !, Sidonie Bonnec traces the fabulous history of the hospital with Jean-Noël Fabiani-Salmon. He is the head of the cardiovascular surgery department at the Georges Pompidou hospital in Paris. He is also the author of the book The fabulous history of the hospital from the Middle Ages to the present day to Pocket editions.
