It was in 2020 that he made himself known to the general public. Like all those who participate in Top chef,Mallory Gabsi has impressed with her culinary talents for her young age. Then 23 years old during his participation in the programM6he wanted, at the time, to open his restaurant in “4-5 years”. In the end, it was only two years later that he opened his establishment in Paris, near the Arc de Triomphe. However, his problems with the law could slow down his meteoric rise.
Indeed, the young leader will know his sentence on March 1st. The Brussels Criminal Court will deliver its verdict in the trial which involves the semi-finalist of Top chefwarned for a fight during a lockdown party in September 2020. In October 2022, as pointed out Evening Magthe Hal-Vilvoorde public prosecutor’s office has requested a six-month suspended prison sentence for Mallory Gabsi.
Present at the fight? Not for defense
In September 2020, the chef would indeed have been involved in a violent fight in Rhode-Saint-Genèse. During the evening, an event would have led him to leave the party hastily, furious. The reason ? The disappearance of his bag which contained his belongings. Very upset, Mallory Gabsi would then have made the choice to return to the scene, in the company of several people according to the prosecution. During the hearing, the Crown stated that Mallory Gabsi “accosted two people who were waiting for a car” before a “fight breaks out”. “These two people were beaten. One of them was knocked unconscious and his jaw was fractured”continued the prosecution.
Still according to the prosecution, several witnesses of the scene would have confirmed the presence of Mallory Gabsi during the altercation. But also the fact that he would also have struck the victims. On the side of his lawyers, they said: “He did indeed go to this lockdown party, it was a mistake, and he left. He came back to get his bag and the organizer of this evening is formal: my client was with her, in the house, when the fight broke out outside”. The defense later added: “he is not involved and that the victims target him because he is known”. Involved or not, the young chef will have to wait until March 1, 2023 to find out what happens next.
