A star of “Sex Education” (Netflix) invited by Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron to dinner in Versailles with Charles and Camilla!

In March 2023, King Charles III and his wife Camilla Parker Bowles were due to travel to France for an official visit. The country was then in complete chaos, because of pension reform, the English monarch was then forced to postpone his visit. And it is this Wednesday, September 20 that the emblematic duo arrives in France. A three-day visit primarily organized to celebrate the long-standing ties between the two countries, as their leaders strive to ease tensions after Brexit.

Upon their arrival in Paris, King Charles III and Queen Camilla will be welcomed by President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte at the Arc de Triomphe, where they will rekindle the flame of the unknown soldier, at the beginning of the afternoon. Then head to the Élysée Palace for a meeting between the two heads of state, on biodiversity, the climate, the summit on artificial intelligence planned for November in the United Kingdom as well as on the situation in the Sahel and on the ‘Ukraine.

In the evening, it is at the Palace of Versailles that the royal couple will be invited for a colorful state dinner. We learn that several famous chefs have been called upon: Anne-Sophie Pic will take care of the starter and Yannick Alléno the main course while pastry chef Pierre Hermé will be entrusted with preparing the dessert.

On the menu: blue lobster, crab cake with a veil of fresh almond and rooster mint for the starter, Bresse poultry with corn, accompanied by a porcini mushroom gratin for the main course, finally, the royal couple for taste the famous “Ispahan”, a famous macaroon cake with fruit and rose petals, by Pierre Hermé which will be decorated with a lychee sorbet.

Thanks to RMC, we learn that there will also be several distinguished guests invited to this dinner, namely the English actor Hugh Grant, a great lover of France, the French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg, whose mother Jane Birkin was English, the Franco-British actress Emma McKey, seen in the series “Sex Education” on Netflix, the photographer Yann-Arthus Bertrand and the writer Ken Follet.
