A snowmobile accident killed one Sunday morning in Saint-Tite, Mauricie.

The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on trail 23 near Haut-du-Lac Nord road. The driver would have lost control of his vehicle in a curve before ending his race in a fence.
The victims were evacuated by firefighters who unsuccessfully performed resuscitation maneuvers on the 41-year-old driver. The passenger in her thirties, for her part, was transported to the hospital where there is no fear for her life.
“Collision investigators went on site to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this event,” said Stéphane Tremblay, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
