"A silence" by Joachim Lafosse (KRIS DEWITTE)

In a cozy, icy universe, quite confusing for the audience, at the start of the film A silence by Joachim Lafosse, A famous lawyer, Daniel Auteuil, is on the front line in a huge child crime case.

Inspired by a true story, linked to the Dutroux affair which shook Belgium in the 90s, A silence examines family relationships weighed down by a secret, an act of child abuse, and the ravages of the narcissistic pervert profile of this man, this lawyer, whose wife, Emmanuelle Devos, is both victim and accomplice, through this silence.

Making of by Cédric Kahn

We left the director at the end of September, with the release of his very good Goldman trialhe is already back with a film which could be complementary, but at the antipodes, much funnier, choral, and far from the theatrical closed doors of an appeal court.

And yet it is also a question of theater, human comedy, politics, social issues, love and therefore life in general. Simon (Denis Podalydès), a slightly old-fashioned director, is in the middle of filming his new film, a social and committed work, which tells the story of the takeover of a bankrupt factory by its workers.

But everything goes down the drain: the producer disappears with a hole in the coffers, the technicians threaten to stop work, not to mention the romances of everyone, or the whims of Jim, the actor main, star of the comedy who must play a union leader, played by Jonathan Cohen who is therefore perfect for the role.
