A show for the environment will bring together 200 artists

(New York) More than 200 artists from the music scene will perform next month in an online environmental fundraising event that will be broadcast on YouTube.



Black Pumas, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, The Lumineers, Cat Stevens, Rhiannon Giddens, Mickey Hart (from Grateful Dead), Taj Mahal and Rosanne Cash are among the artists who have embraced the cause of Music for peace: a global event for the environmentorganizers said on Tuesday.

The organization Playing for Change is orchestrating the event in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund. The concert will air on the Playing for Change YouTube channel on December 15 starting at 9 p.m. EST.

Designed to promote environmental sustainability, the event will raise funds for organizations like Conservation International, American Rivers and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

The concert is sort of a follow-up to a 2020 event that raised over $ 1 million for social justice causes.

Other participating artists include Keb’Mo ‘, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Sara Bareilles, Slash, the Pocket Queen and Giovanni Hidalgo. Other participants will be announced shortly.
