A sheet of Asterix at auction

(Paris) A plate by Albert Uderzo for the album Asterix in Hispania will be auctioned in Paris on June 18, the Daniel Maghen house announced on Wednesday.




These June 18 auctions, devoted to comics, are also an opportunity to buy drawings of Goldorak, by Go Nagai, and Astroboy, by Osamu Tezuka. These two color illustrations are estimated at 40,000 to 50,000 euros ($58,000 to $72,000) each.

Uderzo’s page, in India ink, estimated between 130,000 and 150,000 euros ($188,000 and $216,000), is number 7 of this 1969 album. meeting young Pépé, an Iberian child kidnapped by the Romans and taken to Armorica, near the irreducible Gallic village.

It is dedicated by the author to a journalist, Bernard Delattre, on the occasion of his birthday.

The record for a drawing by Uderzo is the album cover illustration The Tour of Gaulin gouache and colored inks, sold for 1.449 million euros (2 million) including fees in 2017.
