Competitors from around the world gather in Masterton, New Zealand for the annual Golden Shears Shearing Championship.
This three-day event includes competitions in shearing, handling and wool pressing.
“You have to be in shape, yes in your body, but you also have to have the mental strength to be able to hold on, so you’re completely into it,” says Joel Henare, a local shearer from Motueka.
