A 30-year-old man is between life and death after a serious snowmobile accident that occurred Friday afternoon in northern Lanaudière. The driver also suffered minor injuries.
A snowmobile trip for a group of a dozen people in the backcountry ended tragically on Friday.
Two members of the group were injured, one of them seriously, after a swerve which, through the branches, would have ended in a collision with a tree.
The accident occurred at 2 p.m. near Lake Mica, about fifteen kilometers north of the municipality of Saint-Michel-des-Saints in Lanaudière, on the territory of the Pignon Rouge Mokocan outfitter.
The passenger of the snowmobile involved in the accident was ejected before hitting the tree. He was taken to hospital in critical condition. At the end of the evening, the Sûreté du Québec had no information on the evolution of his state of health, indicated Stéphane Tremblay, spokesman for the police service.
The snowmobile driver, a man in his twenties, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
