46 people died in a bus accident south of Sofia (Bulgaria). Metalworkers continue to demonstrate in Spain.
The deadliest bus crash in Europe for ten years occurred in Bulgaria. 46 people, including 12 children, lost their lives on Monday, November 22. The accident took place on a highway south of Sofia. After hitting the slide, the bus caught fire. Only seven passengers managed to extricate themselves from the blaze. Most of the victims were from North Macedonia. In this country, the flags have been half-masted. A three-day mourning has been declared.
Crowded on luxury sailboats that are much less visible, migrants reached southern Italy via Turkey. They paid 8,500 euros to smugglers who could be Ukrainians or Russians. The latter do not hesitate to abandon these sailboats once they arrive at their destination, a way of blurring the lines.
In Spain, after seven days of demonstrations, the metallurgists are at an impasse. The negotiations came to nothing and the demonstrations turned into a clash with the police. A revision of their collective agreement and wage demands are at the origin of the anger of the strikers.
