A septuagenarian who was walking peacefully over the weekend in Magog, in the Eastern Townships, was savagely attacked for no apparent reason. The police are now asking for the public’s help in finding the author of this gratuitous attack.
The events occurred on Saturday evening, near the intersection of Saint-Patrice Ouest and Dollard streets.
An individual allegedly came up from behind and, for no reason, pushed the old man to the ground, before kicking him in the head.
The eldest suffered a major laceration in the head and had to be taken to hospital to treat his injuries.
Police officers from the Régie de police Memphrémagog intervened following a 911 call made by a citizen.
According to the authorities, at least three other people were present at the scene, but they had all left the scene when the patrol officers arrived.
The police would like to get in touch with these three witnesses in order to obtain information that could help find the author of this savage attack.
