a second young person lodges a complaint after a violent arrest

A new complaint has been filed with the Evry prosecutor’s office by one of the three young people arrested in Athis-Mons in Essonne in early May, announces the complainant’s lawyer. On the night of May 9 to 10 in Athis-Mons, a town in the southern suburbs of Paris, three young alcoholics were checked by officials and then placed in police custody at the Juvisy-sur-Orge police station, for acts of contempt and rebellion.

One of them, aged 19, has already filed a complaint with the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) for violence during his police custody, he has been prescribed four days of ‘ITT (total incapacity for work). He also filed a complaint with civil action against X for “acts of torture committed by persons vested with public authorityin a meeting, with the use of weapons” and with the aggravating circumstance of a racist motive, with the dean of the investigating judges of the Evry court. He denounced acts of violence during his police custody in Juvisy-sur -Barley, as “a very large number of punches in the face” and “several tasers to the left arm and shoulder”.

“Swept up in the legs” and hit when he was on the ground

One of his friends present in the car therefore also filed a complaint for “willful violence aggravated by a person holding public authority”, denouncing violence allegedly committed during the arrest before custody. According to the complaint, filed on Friday and consulted by AFP, this 22-year-old was “swept at the level of the legs” and received, on the ground, “several kicks by BAC officials”. Still according to the complaint, filed by his lawyer, Maitre Arié Alimi, he would also have received “twenty punches” in the face before being taken into police custody where he allegedly heard the “screams” of the first young person to file a complaint.
