Three days after the indictment of a piano teacher from the conservatory of Pau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) for rape and sexual assault, the prosecution announced on Friday February 4 the indictment of a second piano teacher from the same conservatory, for “sexual assault on minors under 15 by a person in authority”, indicates France Bleu Béarn Bigorre. “The two cases have no connection between them”assures the parquet floor of Pau.
The teacher is suspected of sexual assault on five victims within the conservatory, between 2007 and 2021. Aged about sixty, he disputes the facts and describes himself as being “touch”. After being taken into custody on Thursday, he was placed under judicial supervision. He is prohibited from practicing with minors and from going to the conservatory of Pau.
The piano teacher had been dismissed and a report had been made to the prosecution in November, after an administrative investigation carried out between September and October 2021. “The teacher has not been in contact with students since the elements became known”assures on France Bleu Béarn Bigorre the deputy president of the conservatory Clarisse Johnson Le Loher.
“It’s disturbing, shocking, and worrying because the two files come out at the same time and concern the same discipline”, reacts Clarisse Johnson Le Loher. A system is being set up with psychologists to surround and support the families and the team. “It discredits others”, fears the president of the conservatory of Pau, who recalls, however, that “It is an establishment that provides quality education”.
