The Starship rocket, from billionaire Elon Musk’s Space X company, took off for its second test on Saturday, November 18.
Starship, the mega-rocket from the company SpaceX, took off on Saturday November 18 from Texas (United States). This launch took place seven months after the first takeoff of the vessel which resulted in failure with its explosion. The engines fired and Starship managed to leave the ground, but it exploded upon entering the atmosphere.
A second test scrutinized by NASA
The rocket is revolutionizing the space sector. Beyond being 120 meters high, it was above all designed to be entirely reusable. Its two stages are supposed to return to their launch pad, considerably reducing costs. NASA hopes to be able to use Starship for its Artemis missions, supposed to bring man back to the Moon. Artemis III is scheduled for December 2025. Despite the explosion of Starship on Saturday, this second launch should allow engineers to collect information necessary to improve the rocket while awaiting a third test.
