A search has been underway for 6 hours at the home of Mohamed Sifaoui, who heads the association that has received the most subsidies from the Marianne fund fight against “separatism”assured Tuesday, June 13 the lawyer of the latter, in an e-mail sent to the Senate inquiry committee, which was to audition this morning the ex-journalist.

“It turns out that since 6 a.m. a search has been underway at his home”in Paris, preventing him from being able to honor this appointment, declared Claude Raynal, president of this commission of inquiry, at the opening of the hearing, reading a message from Mohamed Sifaoui’s lawyer.

A “privileged treatment”

The General Inspectorate of Administration estimated at the beginning of June that the Union of Physical Education and Military Preparation Societies (USEPPM) had benefited from a “privileged treatment” in the allocation of funds by the Interministerial Committee for the Prevention of Delinquency and Radicalization (CIPDR)directed by the prefect Christian Gravel. The France 2 investigation pointed to the closeness between the latter and Mohamed Sifaoui, the main bearer of the USEPPM project. “The call for projects was neither transparent nor fair”decided the IGA in its report.

“Ivolume and quality of publications” (451 communications on different accounts, 8 articles on a website) on social networks and the internet are lower than the planned production”also underlined the report.
