Direction Allier, in Auvergne, where a forest left in the wild will be sanctuary. The Conservatory of natural spaces has launched a subscription. Everyone can buy their piece of forest there.

At first sight, it is a forest like any other. But in the Bourbon mountains (Combine)trees live and die as they see fit. When one of them falls, he stays put. On this parcel, located in the east of the department, the forest has existed for at least 200 years, and has not been exploited for several decades. The firs and the hours shelter a rare flora, and a particular fauna. A unique biodiversity, which the Conservatory of natural spaces of the Allier has decided to protect.

He identified what remains of ancient forests: 10% of all wooded areas. There was also of course the translation of forests into grasslands, that is to say that we turn forests over to put grasslands in their place. (…) There is a destruction little by little”explains Romain Deschamps, in charge of studies and communication at the Conservatory. A subscription was opened with individuals and companies to safeguard these forests, which are rich in biodiversity and valuable allies in mitigating the effects of climate change. Once purchased, they will remain accessible to all. Trees will age without human intervention.
