In 2001, Marion Cotillard, Samy Naceri, Frédéric Diefenthal and Bernard Farcy were a hit in Luc Besson’s film
Taxi. The latter met with such enthusiasm that three other films were filmed until 2007. In 2018, Franck Gastambide decided to relaunch the franchise, and the Diefenthal/Naceri duo did not return and was replaced by Franck Gastambide himself and Malik Bentalha. Bernard Farcy, unforgettable commissioner Gibert, had agreed to return in this fifth part. But six years after filming, the 75-year-old actor settles scores with Franck Gastambide, and reveals that he regrets having resumed his role alongside him.
Indeed, guest of Jordan de Luxe this Tuesday March 12, 2024, the 1m94 actor did not hesitate to tackle Franck Gastambide, and assures that he will no longer resume his role as Commissioner Gibert in the franchise if the actor were to always be the hero and director: “I didn’t feel comfortable. Franck Gastambide wanted to replace Samy Naceri. I said (that we were going to) do something different and no, I wasn’t excited about it. I can’t say to myself that I did the right thing by accepting this version ! I was not satisfied with this result. If I am re-offered another Taxi with Gastambide, it will be NO !”
They filmed “a huge rubbish” together… and never saw each other again
Also questioned about the relationship he had with Marion Cotillard, who played Lily in the first three parts in 1998, 2000 and 2003, Bernard Farcy reveals that he never saw the Oscar-winning actress again, and believes that success is his mounted on the head: “She has a deep talent, a great talent. Afterwards, it escaped him. She became an international star because she did La Môme, she was fantastic, and then she went on to make great films, great actors, and then all of a sudden, there was a status that was established. . I think she didn’t decide the route in advance.” explains the septuagenarian.
Bernard Farcy claims to have never seen the actress againwith whom he shares the common memory of a short film shot in Switzerland, and which turned out to be, according to him, an immense “daube”: “I haven’t seen her again. I don’t have her phone. I didn’t meet her, I met her like that. We both even made a short film in Switzerland, after Taxi 1; a piece of crap. She has nothing to do with it, it’s the story and stuff. It was fun to do that.” Bernard Farcy is most likely talking about L’appel de la cave, a 16-minute short film broadcast in 1999, in which he starred alongside Marion Cotillard and Patrick Saverioni.
