In the municipality of Viriat, in Ain, a place is dedicated to the personal reconstruction of the homeless, who benefit from a roof and help to move forward.
It is a small village that was created in the town of Viriat, in the Ain. A small area made up of 15 mobile homes where former homeless people reside. The place is nicknamed Robinson, like Robinson Crusoe, who knew how to rebuild itself and who inspires the homeless who reside there. “The interest for us was that people agree to sit down and that they feel good there”, declares Agnès Bureau, president of the association “Tremplin”.
“Robinson, it’s not just shelter, it’s not a shelter. It’s really a place to restart.”, adds Agnès Bureau. For Séverine Viseur, resident of Robinson, it is a chance to be in this community. “I’m safe here, plus it’s clean, we have enough space”, explains the woman. Its accommodation is slowly decorated in its own way. For Carole Gourlan, member of the association, “it is a springboard for access to housing, to work”.
