Local police announced on Twitter that a private car and a truck had fallen into the water after the collapse of the bridge in Tretten, in the south of the country.

A wooden road bridge collapsed Monday morning August 15 in Norway, precipitating in the water a car and a heavy goods vehicle, announced the Norwegian police, who specified that the accident had apparently not caused any victim . “A car ended up in the river and the trailer of the heavy truck is swimming in water. The two drivers were found in good health”then said a police official, Terje Krogsad, to the TV2 channel.
Television footage showed the car, partly submerged, on the deck of the Tretten bridge, lying in the Gudbrandsdalslågen river and, a little further on, a truck on another collapsed section of infrastructure. The truck driver was airlifted to safety.
“We cannot know for sure if there were other people on the bridge but, at this stage, we have no information on other people who may have fallen into the water”added Terje Krogsad.
