Each year, the device of the “success course” is proposed to consolidate the fundamental achievements. More than 200,000 schoolchildren are involved in this small-scale refresher course, in an ideal atmosphere. Example on the Côte d’Azur, in Vallauris Golfe-Juan.
A small group of future CM2s returned to school in Vallauris Golfe-Juan (Alpes-Maritimes), Thursday August 25. A return to school early, rather playful. The objective is to review the fundamentals before September 1st. These students have experienced some difficulties during the past year. Spotted by their teacher to benefit from the courses, they have the choice to participate or not. “Next year, if my report is not good… I preferred to learn a little, than to know nothing”says Naurianne Beltrad, a CM2 student.
The recovery is only done over five mornings. This week is privileged for volunteers, children as well as school teachers. “It gives me a pre-start, very gently. It also allows me, with honesty, to earn a little more money, but having a lot of fun”says Céline Moragues, a teacher. “Coming back to school, seeing the teachers again, seeing the friends again, it plays down this back-to-school course a little bit”, adds Adeline Di Giovanni, school teacher and head of the success course. 123 schools took part in the scheme in the Alpes-Maritimes department.
