Friday April 5, the 13 Hours weekend goes to Lorraine. Wild animals, historic abbey or famous macaroons… The region is full of riches.

In Rhodes (Moselle), it is possible to go on a safari to discover wolves, mouflons or even raccoons. More than 1,500 animals live in a 120-hectare park. Visitors appreciate being able to observe the animals, in semi-freedom and not behind fences or tied up. The fauna is adapted to the Moselle territory. Lorraine also has many historical riches, such as Pont-à-Mousson (Meurthe-et-Moselle). In this town, the Prémontrés abbey bears witness to the cultural abundance of the region.

Nancy’s secret macaroon recipe

One of Lorraine’s biggest secrets is located in Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle). Thus, since 1793, only the business manager of the Maison des Sœurs Macaron has known the secret recipe for Nancy’s macarons. Knowledge has been passed down to a few initiates for several centuries. They are linked to the granddaughter of Catherine de Medici, who created a convent in the city. The sisters, who could not eat meat, replaced it with macaroons.
