A recovery plan for our four-legged friends in Charente

The recovery plan, put in place by the State to mitigate the financial consequences of the health crisis for two years, also has a “social cohesion” component to support animal defense associations and sterilization campaigns. In Brie-sous-Chalais, in Charente, the association “The dogs of hope” will respond to the regional call for projects, to invest in new equipment.

Created in 2008 in Villebois-Lavalette, before settling in Ronsenac and then in 2014 in Brie-sous-Chalais, the association now welcomes around fifteen dogs, around forty cats, and a few equines (horses and donkeys) , abandoned in the middle of nature, or taken away from their masters because of ill-treatment. The president of the association, Dorothée Paile, is putting together files with quotes, to improve the reception of her little residents: two veterinary modules to modernize the infirmary. Total: around 6000 euros.

In 2021, four Charente associations were supported to the tune of 87,000 euros. For the second wave, in 2022, an envelope of one million euros will be distributed in New Aquitaine. The “Dogs of Hope” association is awaiting a response in February. You can also participate in the regional call for projects to organize cat sterilization campaigns in your municipality, fully funded by the State.
