“A recalcitrant infection”, Bruce Toussaint, friend of Michel Drucker, gives valuable information on the state of health of the star host and talks about his “entourage”!

A morale of steel! After a second intervention, Michel Drucker is still holding up and remains in top form. At 80, nothing stops the host of “Can’t wait for Sunday“. Not even a heart operation. Indeed, our colleagues from the Parisian revealed this Thursday, March 23 that the journalist had to go to the billiards again and it was not really planned…

It was on Monday March 20 that he underwent a new heart operation at the Georges Pompidou hospital. An intervention that lasted “nearly five hours in the operating room for an operation on the mitral valve”. This intervention would have been planned “at the end of last week by the medical profession after the detection of a bacterium during medical examinations”. This Friday, March 24, Bruce Toussaint and his teams provided additional information on said bacteria. “According to our information, he was operated on at the Georges Pompidou hospital for nearly five hours of the mitral valve. This is the second open-heart operation for Michel Drucker after that of 2020”, first recalled his journalist before that Bruce Toussaint does not recall: “All that because of an infection which had started at the end of January”.

Michel Drucker, in great shape despite the operation

“Yes, a very very recalcitrant infection”, then confirms his colleague. This provides some details on how the infection was detected: “At the end of January he is tired and is having tests for several days in the hospital. And then the doctors detect an infection for which they prescribe him high-dose antibiotics. He stays in the hospital for two weeks and then goes home to rest to follow this treatment but the infection does not go away. He is still very tired”. It is from this moment that Michel Drucker decides to return to the hospital“for a new battery of exams”. There, “the doctors realize that the bacteria has lodged on the heart which is already a very fragile place since this operation in 2020”.

If the doctors did not take this “decision of cheerfulness of heart”, everything went very well and the journalist is in great shape at the moment. The BFMTV teams who were able to speak with the journalist’s entourage ensure that he has a “morale of steel”. Three days before the operation, he even asked when he was going to be able to get back on his set and find “Happy Sunday”. But he would not once have mentioned the risks or the pain that could ensue.
