The aeronautics sector is making a strong comeback after years marked by the Covid crisis, this is one of the lessons of the Paris Air Show which begins on Monday June 19. For Thalès, this phenomenon is even more blatant because the group is benefiting both from the recovery in passenger traffic and also from the consequences of the war in Ukraine with massive investments by States to modernize their army.

“For the defense part, it’s really geopolitics that drives investments”recognizes Patrice Caine, the CEO of Thalès, the tricolor flagship of civil and military aeronautics, but also of satellites and biometric documents. “Whether in the Middle East or in Asia, many countries in the world had never stopped investing. Regarding civil aeronautics, air traffic has almost returned to pre-Covid levels, Airbus also recorded a record order for 500 single-aisle A320 family aircraft from an Indian airline on Monday. The aircraft manufacturer’s order book is full. “We have been re-selected by Airbus for the next generation of flight plan management, underlines the CEO of Thalès. This new device makes it possible to consume up to 10% less fuel. Another advantage of this new cockpit is that it will be “retrofiatbale”adaptable to update the existing aircraft fleet.
