Senior permanent contract: a proposal that is debated
(France 2)
A “senior permanent contract” proposed to reintegrate those over 60 into the job market is not unanimous.
A Permanent contract dedicated to seniors ? To stem unemployment and encourage businesses to hire, employers are defending this idea. This experience enhancement contract could be useful to job seekers. “When I apply, the answer is always the same: it’s a refusal”explains a senior job seeker. “To push companies to change their mentality, this can be a good solution. It’s already good to create the beginnings of an electric shock and awareness”he explains.
A deadline?
Concretely, this Permanent contract would be reserved for those over 60. When signing the contract, the senior should indicate to their employer the number of quarters they have left to contribute before retirement. Once the date has passed, the employer could decide to automatically part with it. It is then impossible for the employee to stay and improve their retirement pension. A red line for the Force Ouvrière union.
