The 44-year-old director and actor had already been taken into custody on Wednesday June 21 on suspicion of sexual assault in a nightclub in another case. At the end of his police custody, which had been extended, Nicolas Bedos was given a summons the next day to be tried at the beginning of 2024 for “sexual assault in a state of obvious intoxication”. This offense is punishable by 5 years’ imprisonment and a fine of 75,000 euros.

According to the first elements to which franceinfo had access in this file, a young woman aged 25 had filed a complaint on June 12. In her complaint, she indicated that she had gone with her older brother and his partner as well as two friends to the “Sauvage” nightclub in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. According to the prosecution, the facts were committed on June 2. This young woman accused Nicolas Bedos of having stretched out his right hand at the level of his private parts, over his pants. She then says that she pushed him away, and remembers that he said to her “you are not going to hit me there!“.
