a policeman holed up in his home is injured with his service weapon

An official at the border police of the Oise, this man in his forties called for help this Monday morning around 9 am.

Over the phone, he announced that he was entrenched at his home and threatened to open fire in the event of the intervention of the police or rescue near his house. The gendarmes immediately set up a security perimeter, while the inhabitants of Sarnois residing within this perimeter could be welcomed in the village hall.

According to the prefecture, the various attempts to make contact during the day did not yield anything. This is why the intervention of the intervention group of the national gendarmerie (GIGN) was requested at the end of the afternoon.

“After entering the home, the gendarmes noted, around 8:30 p.m., that the person concerned had injured himself with his service weapon, probably well before the intervention of the GIGN”, explains the prefecture, which welcomes “the commitment, professionalism and mobilization of all the services involved in this intervention”.

The man was taken to hospital.
