A police officer made a macabre discovery this Sunday in Marolles-en-Brie, France.
A woman in her thirties was taken into police custody after her companion discovered two frozen newborns at their home, said the Créteil prosecutor’s office, contacted by Agence France-Presse.
The companion, a policeman in his thirties, warned the emergency services on Sunday morning after discovering the bodies of the two babies in their freezer, “twins, a priori”, added the Créteil prosecutor’s office, specifying however that expertise was underway to determine the age of the babies. According to information from Le Parisien, it could be two babies who were frozen just after delivery.
The couple would not have children together. The woman in police custody is the mother of a child born from a previous union, according to the first elements collected by the investigation, which was entrusted to the Territorial Brigade for the Protection of the Family.
