A fire broke out on Saturday July 15 in the afternoon, south of Perpignan in the Pyrénées-Orientales. A hundred firefighters mobilized to put it out.
The fire isEast declared in a pine forest at the gates of Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales). South of the city, around 1:30 p.m., the wind was very strong in a region particularly affected by drought. The flames threatened a hotel, but no evacuations were carried out at the height of the crisis. “I was on the edge of the pool. Suddenly smoke. I got a little worried, I heard the helicopters. I was afraid that we would be evacuated”says a resident.

To fight the fire, a hundred firefighters were on the ground, supported by water drops from three helicopters. They fought for several hours against the flames, under the gaze of neighbors worried about their property. “I have a depot in the area so I thought this was coming maybe over there”, explains a local resident. At 7 p.m., the fire finally summer fixed.
