A pileup involving four vehicles leaves two injured in Saint-Hyacinthe

(Saint-Hyacinthe) Around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, emergency services were called following a collision involving several vehicles in Saint-Hyacinthe, in Montérégie, reports the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

A first impact took place at the intersection of avenue Saint-Louis and rue Brunette Ouest, between two vehicles. The first vehicle then hit a building, before leaving the scene, explains Camille Savoie, spokesperson for SQ.

The second vehicle apparently deviated from its lane and hit a third car, which was coming in the opposite direction on rue Saint-Louis. Finally, a fourth vehicle coming in the same direction as the third vehicle was unable to avoid the collision and hit the third vehicle.

The SQ specifies that the motorists of the second and third vehicles were evacuated to a hospital center to treat injuries which are considered serious, the driver of the second car involved is currently in an unstable condition.

Investigators have been mobilized to clarify the causes and circumstances surrounding this multiple collision and the investigation is still ongoing.
