A person was taken into police custody on Tuesday June 25 in the investigation into the poisoned coffee at Bayeux hospital (Calvados) last week, reports France Bleu Normandie, confirming information from Ouest France.

According to the Caen public prosecutor’s office, it is a member of staff – it is currently unknown whether it is a man or a woman – aged 49. This person is suspected of having poured Hypnovel into the coffee drunk by his colleagues. In the medical field, this substance is generally used to sedate or anesthetize.

Last Wednesday, June 19, four employees of the Bayeux hospital lost consciousness or found themselves drowsy, after drinking coffee together in the emergency room. Quickly taken care of by their colleagues, the caregivers are now doing better.
