A Périgord fan of Saint-Etienne has more than 30,000 postcards of football stadiums

In the stands of the Stade Francis-Rongiéras in Perigueux on Sunday, this match will be very special for Michel Naulin. This resident of Neuvic has built up one of the ten largest collections of stadium postcards in Europe. Today it has over 33,000 postcards with stadiums from over 200 countries. Cards he’s bought, traded, or made himself over the past thirty years.

“We’re going to take a binder at random. There, on the very first page, you have La Bombonera. It’s Diego Maradona’s stadium in Buenos Aires. On the page there is the name of the city, the stadium and the reference from the menu.”

“This stadium is my life”

The Greens stadium, the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium, has a special place in his collection. It was there that he met his wife. Before leaving to live there for thirty years. It was therefore out of the question for him to miss the arrival of his favorite club in the Dordogne. And Michel intends to take advantage of this round of 16 of the Coupe de France to expand his collection.

Sunday, I will take a hundred photos to publish 4 for 5 cards around the event.

And since his return to the Dordogne, Michel has set himself a challenge: to make maps of all the Dordogne stadiums with a stand. He already has those of the main ones. He also calls on the Périgords to inform him of the small stadiums which meet these criteria.
