A pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by a snowplow in Montreal

A 75-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured Tuesday morning after being hit by a snowplow in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.

Police officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) went to Arthur Street, near Hurteau Street, around 10:45 a.m., regarding a collision between a woman and a snow removal truck.

The victim was transported to a hospital while he was conscious, although he had serious injuries to his lower body. Around noon Tuesday, the SPVM was still waiting for more information regarding his state of health.

“According to initial information obtained, the collision occurred in a common residential parking lot. The driver will be met by the police in the coming hours,” said Jeanne Drouin, spokesperson for the SPVM.

A security perimeter was set up at the scene of the accident to allow investigators to analyze the scene.
