The mayor of La Flèche (Sarthe) demanded Thursday, November 25 on France Bleu Maine an internal investigation within the hospital of Bailleul, located near his town. On November 1, a patient died there for lack of an anesthetist necessary for his emergency operation. Nadine Grelet-Certenais wants the management of the establishment and the Regional Health Agency to investigate “to understand these dysfunctions”.
According to the mayor of La Flèche, also president of the supervisory committee of the Sarthe-et-Loir health center, the tragedy is due to the fact that “the anesthesiologist who had to take care himself had to be hospitalized urgently” and was not replaced. The patient, suffering from acute inflammation, was therefore transferred to Le Mans, about forty kilometers from the Bailleul hospital. Fortunately, he died shortly after his arrival, according to information that France Bleu Maine was able to gather.
“I ask that the facts that occurred that day be analyzed very precisely and that conclusions be drawn. If there must be questioning of certain organizations, let them be pointed out. there is no way that will happen again!“, insists the elected.
