With three deaths, these last five days have been the deadliest of the year on the roads of the Drôme. First, last Wednesday between Chabeuil and Crest this collision between an army bus and a car whose driver did not survive. And then yesterday at the end of the afternoon, they are two bikers, a 68 year old man and a 47 year old woman together on the same motorcycle; they died near Chamaloc on the road to the Col du Rousset, also in a probable collision with another seriously injured 20-year-old motorcyclist. In total, nine people lost their lives on the Drôme roads since the beginning of the year.
The EDSR gendarmes also observed 290 traffic violations, including 145 speeding violations with a peak of 166 km/h instead of 80 and withdrawn 37 driving licenses, including 5 for drug use and 4 for drunk driving. Very important figures whileabout fifty gendarmes just from the EDSR nevertheless crisscrossed the department.
New operations to raise awareness of the risks of driving a motorcycle will be organized next weekend in Léoncel and Nyons by the gendarmes of the EDSR 26.
