Near Menton, in the Alpes-Maritimes, young children suffering from serious illness were able to discover the sensations of paragliding. A breath of fresh air for them and for their families.
For a few moments suspended in the sky of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin (Alpes-Maritimes), they are freed from the weight of the disease. Raphaël Rougon and Lola Mazzini, 11, are both battling cancer. Seen from above, life seems lighter and more intense. When you put your feet on the ground, your head is still in the clouds. “It was so good, beautiful”, savors Lola. “Magic”, comments Raphaël for his part.
For the parents of Raphaël and Lola, a little worried during the flight, this activity is an enchanting parenthesis. “It gives him courage to face the disease, the hospital, the treatments and a lot of courage to continue to fight”, underlines the mother of Raphaël. A breath of fresh air thanks to the support of volunteers from the “Plus de sport” association. During the weekend of March 4 and 5, fifteen children and their families were able to enjoy this moment of escape.
