The parade of July 14, on the Champs-Elysées, was placed under the sign of the war in Ukraine. Flag bearers from nine Eastern European countries, allies of France, took part in the parade.

Symbol of France’s support for Ukraine, the Caesar guns were displayed on the cobblestones of the Champs-Elysées (Paris), Thursday July 14. The flag bearers of the countries of Eastern Europe marched at the head of the procession, emphasizing solidarity with France’s allies. “We are proud that they are there,” said a passerby. Among the spectators, relatives of soldiers, who watched their passage. Just enough time to catch a glimpse of the Patrouille de France slicing through the sky of Paris.

Supervised by Rafales, the Awacs, a radar detection and command aircraft, was piloted today by the son of a Breton couple. “Knowing he’s up there is great”, enthuses the mother. The different army corps paraded one by one. In total, 4,925 men and women, from the Foreign Legion to the firefighters, particularly applauded. The Reaper drone also flew over the capital for the first time, a strategic weapon used by French forces in the Sahel to track down jihadists. The ceremony ended with the athletes, and in particular the medalists from Tokyo (Japan) and Beijing (China).
