A week after the attack targeting a concert hall in the suburbs of Moscow, the investigation continues in Russia. A ninth person accused of being involved in the organization of the terrorist attack which left 144 dead has been detained, at least until May 22, the press service of the Moscow courts announced on Friday March 29 .
This ninth suspect is from Tajikistan, a former Soviet republic in Central Asia, just like the four alleged attackers, already arrested. Several suspects accused of helping them have also already been detained.
This attack, claimed by the jihadist group Islamic State, is the deadliest in Russia in twenty years. Russian authorities continue to trace a link to Ukraine. Investigators assured Friday that the alleged attackers had said that after the attack, they had to go to kyiv “to receive the reward promised to them.”
