Hamas released a video of a hostage on Wednesday April 24. This is Hersch Goldberg-Polin, 23 years old. Filmed under duress, the young man implores the Israeli government to release him.
In the first images released by Hamas, we see Hersch Goldberg-Polin, 23 years old. The young man, filmed under duress, implores the Israeli government to release him. He was kidnapped on October 7, his hand blown off by a grenade from his captors. The video broadcast on Wednesday April 24 constitutes the first proof of life of one of the 133 Israeli hostages for several weeks.
“It’s a relief to see him alive”
Contrary to the authorities’ instructions, the young man’s parents agreed to broadcast the video in Israel. “It’s a relief to see him alive, but we are worried about his health”, declares Jon Polin, the young man’s father. Shortly after Hamas published the video, relatives of the hostages demonstrated in front of the residence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. For now, hostage negotiations are at an impasse.
