The board of directors of the Théâtre de Quat’Sous announced on Wednesday the appointment of Catherine Vidal and Xavier Inchauspé as its co-director general. They will be jointly responsible for the artistic and administrative direction of the theater, succeeding Olivier Kemeid and France Villeneuve, who together have been in charge of the general management of Quat’Sous since 2016.
“The arrival of Catherine Vidal and Xavier Inchauspé is a natural part of the history of the Quat’Sous, underlines Philippe Archambault, chairman of the board of directors and member of the selection committee. Their artistic vision piques curiosity, their expertise is undeniable and their love for this unique theater is undeniable. »
An artist associated with the Quat’Sous for years, Catherine Vidal has signed several productions in the room on the avenue des Pins. For his part, Xavier Inchauspé co-produced two shows as co-general manager of Orange Noyée (with Mani Soleymanlou), including Thousand in 2023. The theater also hosted two shows by Sibyllines, the company of Brigitte Haentjens that Xavier Inchauspé co-directed.
The two artists will begin their mandate at the end of August. “We will open windows to the world by presenting contemporary texts from all walks of life that give pride of place to fiction and new ways of telling it,” explain the co-directors. We will bring together artists of all generations and will regularly break down the fourth wall between the stage and this room occupied by the Quat’Sous since 1965. ”
