New measures to try to control the spread of the epidemic. The Steering Committee of the National Rugby League (LNR) adopted a new Covid protocol on Wednesday, December 29, obliging all Top 14 and Pro D2 players, including the vaccinated, to be tested at least twice a week. So far, only the unvaccinated have been tested.

In its press release, the NRL indicates that “in the context of the evolution of the health situation, the Steering Committee of the NRL approved several modifications of the Covid-19 protocol on the basis of the proposals presented by the Covid-19 Expertise Commission”.

Consequently, all members of the professional groups of the clubs concerned, if they have been vaccinated, “will now have to carry out two weekly tests: the day of the first weekly meeting and two days before the meeting scheduled for the weekend”.

For the unvaccinated, the obligation to “antigenic tests or PCR every 24 hours” is maintained, that of the first meeting of the week and that carried out two days before the meeting “must be PCR tests”, specifies the League.

Finally, “A club may request the postponement of its match if it does not have 23 players available under professional contract or hope (with six first lines), including a minimum of 15 players under professional contract”, concludes the NRL.
