The 30-year-old author, originally from Chicoutimi, thus probes the psyche of the ruling class in slow and immersive prose while painting a clairvoyant portrait of today’s Montreal. Remember that his second novel, Roberval Quarrel, had been very noticed when it was published in 2018; he had won numerous awards in addition to being among the finalists for prestigious prizes and being part of the first selection of the Prix Médicis, in France.
