Despite gaining around fifty deputies, the National Rally appears to be the big loser in the legislative elections, weighed down by a controversial campaign between the two rounds.
Marine Le Pen came to greet her elected deputies, this Wednesday, July 10 at the National Assembly (Paris). The smile is only a facade, because Sunday’s results were much more disappointing than hoped. “It’s only a postponement, because we can’t extend national representation indefinitely”insists the National Rally (RN) MP for Pas-de-Calais.
After a family photo, the RN deputies entered the meeting, joined by Jordan Bardella. They aspire to learn the lessons of Sunday’s failure, due in particular to certain problematic candidacies, such as that of a woman wearing a Nazi cap, or of an ineligible man, because under guardianship. The far-right parliamentarians were instructed to now warn the leadership before speaking, and to better control their public expressions. Marine Le Pen was reappointed as head of the group.
