In a video released by Hamas, two hostages speak and demand that a solution be found quickly. A proposal from Israel would be studied by the Islamist organization.

A new video showing two hostages in the hands of Hamas has been sent. We choose not to broadcast their message, even though they are filmed under duress. The first, Keith Siegel, 64, explains in the video that he is in danger. The second hostage, Omri Miran, 47, talks about numerous bombings. He asks his family to put pressure on the government to reach an agreement with Hamas. And that is exactly what the thousands of demonstrators gathered in Tel Aviv on Saturday April 27 were demanding. Omri Miran’s father addresses the Hamas leader: “Show humanity and you will see that our war cabinet will be with you.” The family of the 64-year-old hostage addresses the Israeli authorities: “I demand that the leaders of this country watch this video and act as if it was their own father calling for help.”

Hamas studies a proposal from Israel

Hamas already released another similar video last Wednesday, showing Hersh Goldberg, 23 years old. His parents immediately spoke to their son: “If you can hear us, we say we love you, stay strong and survive.” Among these three hostages, two are Israeli-American, a way for Hamas to increase pressure on Israel, but also on Washington. The Islamist organization says today it is studying a new proposal from the Jewish state. It would allow a truce and the release of hostages. There are still 129 of them in the hands of Hamas.
