A new film of Asterix and Obelix in the cinema

A new film of Asterix and Obelix will be released next February simultaneously in France and Quebec.

Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom is the fifth live-action feature film inspired by the comics of René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, but it is the first to offer an original story.

The film is directed and co-written by Guillaume Canet, who also plays Asterix. Gilles Lellouche, Vincent Cassel, Marion Cotillard and Philippe Katerine are also part of the cast.

This new version will partly take place in China, where the Gauls will help Princess Fu-Yi to free her mother, the Empress, who has been imprisoned.
